SLP Grille
Stupid question but what's holding the Emblem that I need to remove to install the grille? It feels like there is just 2 prongs and its maybe held on with adhesive? Or am I way wrong? I only checked quick its to cool and wet to lay on the ground right now lol
Its held on by double sided tape....
That's right. Double sided tape with a couple tabs to keep it lined up straight.
The only thing you need to keep in mind if you get an SLP grille is the stock grille opening. If you have a black car, it's not really a problem. But if you have a light/bright color (white, red, yellow) the stock opening shows through the SLP grille. Most people recommend painting the area behind the SLP grille black. Other wise it is blatantly obvious you have a stick-on piece.
Here's a picture of 7801 Monte Man's Tony Stewart grille loosely fit when he first got it out of the box. He has since painted and installed it properly and it looks great! But this gives you an idea of what I was talking about.
My monte is blue (obviously from the sig haha) so if I were to put a grille on, could I put vinyl behind it so the car's color didn't show through? Trying to paint the part of the bumper that is behind the grille black seems like an awfully challenging thing for a 19 year old to do haha.
Where the emblem is on the bumper originally, is that little pillar not very noticeable through the slp grille?
