Default Side Badge

Hey, minor exterior question for my Monte. The side badge that says Monte Carlo in victory red, then the SS in the bolder bright red, I'm looking to change it. AwesomeSS, (Amy) has her Monte Carlo badge in white letters, with the SS in red. How do you go about doing this? Have a paint shop just paint it white? Could I do it myself?

I do remember cruising on Ebay one time I found them selling two side badges, but the letters were in silver, not white, and I would need 3 badges, one for the back. Any ideas on this?

You could take them off, paint them, then use double sided tape to put them back on. I suggest buy a new set and paint those the color you want since the tape is pre cut.

I had some paint work done on the red car and when it was in the shop I had them swap out the Monte Carlo badges (that were body color) to galaxy silver. I guess if you are looking to change out the color of the SS, find some SS emblems on ebay and paint them the color you want.

I want to change mine also but what I noticed was the ones that are on ebay are the ones for the trunk emblem and they are not the same size.... so just keep an eye out on that. I also dont recomend taking the ones off now and painting them and taping them back on...... its a disaster.

Mask them off and paint how you want yourself

Can you tell me how you realized that they were the badges for the trunk and not the sides? I remember seeing a set of two on Ebay one time, I only didn't buy it because I want 3, not just 2.

When I replaced the black one on my truck to silver--i bought a silver one off ebay, well it was dark silver & didnt match my car so i sanded it down & got a can of touch up galaxy silver paint from oreillys & sprayed a couple thin layers of the silver on it & let it dry for a while. Apparently it worked bcuz it looks good to me =] so u could either buy a different set & paint them yourself or take yours off & repaint them but then u gotta worry about doing the reglue & everything. I personally didnt wanna deal with all that
