Why is one side so much more than the other anyways?

I checked with the parts department at a local GM dealer. They checked the system for availability. There are a few passenger side roof rails left. But the driver side comes up as "Not Available".

So unless GMPD has some hidden away somewhere, you're only going to find the passenger side brand new.

GMPD hardly carries things in stock. They are just a dealership after all.

If it has a * and is special order, I wouldn't even bother.

I'm not trying to sound like a rich guy, but I don't understand how people can want something so badly, but then split hairs over a hundred buck here or there on the price. I should hope that the additional cost of any one time purchase never effects my happiness or well being. I didn't have to pay $300, but if I had to I would.

When I got my car decalled - which was pretty much my Monte's first "mod" - a lot of people thought it was nuts to spend $1000 on "just stickers". But I can remember a race buddy from another race team stopping by our shop to shoot the breeze. We were both on both low budget late model teams at the time. But he really understood the expense when he say my car - he got it. Of course, he liked it and said to me: "What's a thousand bucks to racer's like us?" We both routinely had a $1000 damage to our race cars at the end of out Friday nights and nothing to show for that.

Its all just money. Its got to be spent to be enjoyed - do what you want with it

Well I can see your point there Taz. I found mine online in Hamilton for "make an offer". I contacted the seller and told him I was on my way. I don't think he understood they were a commodity and I wasn't going to give him a chanceto find out. Within' 2 hours of his original post I had closed the 100 miles gap and was at his step - $200 in hand - and he took it. We never really even negotiated.

Certainly some luck involved. Sometimes you make your own luck.
