Default Replacing Spoiler on 02 Monte

I found a pointed/nascar spoiler for a 2005 Monte for $50.. before I buy and put it on my 2002 Monte Carlo SS I have a couple of questions...

1: Will it fit?
2: How big are the bolt holes on the trunk? And what is the best method to cover/fill them (mud or weld)?

I work at an auto body shop and can basically get all of the labor and painting for free, I just want to know what I'm in for before I continue with this project

thank you for your time

Only the '06/'07 vertical spoiler uses the same bolt holes as the surf board. All others require filling the old holes and drilling new ones (including the '05 you mentioned).

No matter which spoiler you go with, you will need to have the top of the trunk lid repainted.

Since you work at a body shop, I would ask them how they would fill in the holes. I would guess welding since the holes are not very big, but I'm not a body guy....

I would say weld because they will be exposed.

If you can get a junkyard trunklid with no spoiler just install on that one and paint everything to match
