Default Removing the door

Not on my Monte but on my 2004 Impala.


I would think they were the same.


The rear door on my 04 Impala is dented (kid) and I was thinking of purchasing a complete door from Pull A Part and simply swapping doors.


Can you remove the door with simple hand tools or do you need to grind welds or need something special??

Quick google search it looks like the hinges unbolt, so hand tools should do it

Agreed on hand tools, at least for the Monte. You'll want to put a jack underneath the door for support and you should probably have someone standing there to provide support for the door when you take out the last bolt.

You can use hand tools. I have replaced my door hinges on my monte which was a pain since the doors were so big. You can use hand tools and a jack makes it easier to hold the door. I do suggest having you and another person help you do the work. With one person it is pretty difficult.

hi yes just hand tools and maybe a friend to put the bolts in and adjust the door to fit nice
