Default rear quarter panel rust

Hey guys. New here, just got my 79 monte a couple days ago. I got it as a project and I've pretty much figured out my game plan. One thing I was curious about was some bad rust on my rear quarter panels. I've had a hard time finding new quarter panels online so I thought y'all might be able to decide if this rust is too bad to try and patch up.

bad news. i dont think anyone on earth produces quarters for our monte. good news is i have the only nos pair in the world. theyve never been mounted, dented, primered, or anything. they have gm stickers on them theyre full length quarters and i have the pair. theyve been sitting in my house for 2 years. if you want feel free to pm me but theyre not cheap. your only other options are to buy a patch panel. jc whitney might have them, get some sheet metal and test your skill , hope to find a set somewhere, or go to the junkyard and hope to find a 78-80 monte with unmolested quarters. hope i was of some help. it took me a couple years to find the ones that i have.

What I had to do with my '86. A good friend found an '81-88 SC Monte setting in a salvage yard he frequents. He took his battery operated saw with him one day and cut the lower quarter sections off for me.

The guy who owns the yard more or less gave him the panels since my friend goes there so much. When my friend & his wife came up for a visit (TN to OH) he sold the 4 panels to me for $20.

Now. All I have to do is graft them on to my '86 LS Monte.

Actually someone is reproducing rear quarters. I don't know how well they are made and reliability of them but they are out there.
