Default Painting Calipers

I'm painting my front calipers in the morning 9:30-10:00 before I got to work at 1 and I need some advice. Should I take the caliper off and paint it, I dont really want to go through the process of bleeding my brakes, can I just take the brake reservoir cap off and let the air come out that way?. OR should i tape the **** out of everything and spray it while it's on their (also time consuming). I'm using VHT brake caliper paint (900F), and have painted them last year, but started wearing off couple months ago. I was using Dupli-Color brake caliper paint with ceramic (500F). Thanks everyone.

I wouldn't paint calipers in the morning and then use them in a couple of hours. I'd probably try to do it when I can give the paint 24 hours to set.

And if you really didn't want to deal with taping / removing, you should look into a G2 kit, that you can brush on.

If you know how to properly bleed, it will save you TONS of time taking the caliper off. But you can tape and spray, but it may not look as good and take longer.

i painted mine on using a brush. i had to tape VERY little, but be careful to make it smooth. Mine looked pretty rough after i let it set, so I had to do some light sanding and repainting in places. I never knew how to take them off... so... i was SOL.

Yeah I didn't want to do it in the morning, just because I didn't want to rush the painting process haha. I don't want to do it with a brush just because I've read some not so good reviews. BUT i will just take a whole day to do it. So I'm still debating whether or not to take them off. But to get a good coating of the caliper, I guess I'll just take them off and bleed them. The guy at autozone told me to do like 3-4 coats of it...but then I heard from a co-worker that the more coats, the more it will chip. lol but the VHT caliper paint says it wont crack chip or peel under any circumstances, even weather. 8-O
