Default Operation Hood Decal Refresh is underway

Hi all. I have taken on a project before I store Precious for the year. I am re-doing the hood graphics that have been on the car for 10 years. The decals are getting tired and have water spots and chips in them. I have tested how hard it will be to remove them and with a little bit of heat they peel right off. My fiance has adhesive remover that is safe for paint that seems to work well. I am happy to report there is no paint fade so I won't have to repaint the hood. It will need a little wet sanding and buffing as the decals have etched a very fine outline in the paint. Since I have created the graphics myself I can make them at work and have the Snap-On tool box installers install them. It really depends on how busy my work load is. I do have a back up plan if the work thing doesn't happen. I have found a local automotive graphics company by my house that will cut the vinyl and install them for me at a discounted rate because the artwork is already done.

Man, I look at all the little piece of that decal, you have a lot of work ahead of you. I hope it all turns out as you want it to.

What did you use for adhesive removal? I just removed my pin striping this past Monday. I used a heat gun to remove the pin striping and heat with a "Staedtler White Eraser" to remove adhesive (normal use is for removeing pencil marking on paper and film).
