Default mpd hood

ok so im looking for some info from anyone that has a mpd ram air hood. i want to know how it drains the water. in the pic it looks like it should dump water right on the pcm in the airbox. im looking to make my own ram air hood and any measurements, pictures or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Alex

i see that theres a hole near the opening but i cant believe that thats where all the water drains.

when you have a stock air box in there it still gets water on the pcm and the tcm but it does not get a tromendus amout of water on them its like very little if any. if you have concerns there might be a way to make a catch for the water but not sure how.

i dont think that the factory airbox gets water on the pcm or tcm. its sealed. the hood i want to make and the one above has a opening falling into an air box. i dont really want to fab anything to catch the water just curious of anyone that has it if they shot water through it where it would drain from.

I thought it had been designed so that water did not get in that way in the first place... or it channeled it somewhere else because with a ram air system you would be pouring water into the engine if it was otherwise. I've heard that somewhere... don't know where... the hood is fiberglass though, I think... so you shouldn't have to worry about rust.

I can't think of any active members off the top of my head.

I think this member of the Monte Millenium Generations would be happy to help you out with what you need to know, however. Just join up and contact him.

2003supersport (matt) has an MPD hood on his 03..slightly different design, and i'm not 100% sure the 6th MPD hoods are ram air, but its worth asking him, he would know.

I believe the hood has all these channels built in to it for the water, perhaps it just comes out the back?
