And this is what's getting fixed. Both rear quarter panels where they fold under into the wheel well are cracked and chipping. The passenger side has actually gotten worse and has chipped out onto the side. Gonna be around 1K to get both sides done, but i figured i better keep the old girl in good shape. Anyone else see this issue yet?

Ha, i wondered how long it would be before someone asked that. That is a custom blue lighting rig. Its some police lightbar LEDs in a box that i tried to make waterproof, ran to a fuse panel in the trunk and a switch mounted on the overhead console.

That is weird that the paint would fail there. I bought my car with 60k highway miles and the only area that was chipped was the front bumper and hood. My car now as 85k on it and it doesn't really see highway driving but the salt they use here as taken it's toll.

I am finding that this is a common issue on the sixth gen MC's. I have the same issue and if I get a winter beater I will putting my girl on the lift for the winter and do all the body for and paint. Good job getting that taken care of. It's something that has been sitting in the back of my head for the last couple years.

mine did the same thing as OPs car. paint peeled then in about a month or 2 i had big bubbles on my 03....it was depressing and i was quoted 1200 to get the rust cut out of one side and painted then the other side just sanded and painted
