You don't need to sand blast anything.... I simply cut an access window in the mirror backing plate (the plastic plate that attaches the mirror glass to the position motor assembly) to mount the LEDs behind the glass and they shine thru perfectly fine
I used the LED assemblies out of broken GMT800 (Tahoe/Suburban/Silverado) mirrors...

paint prep now
Yea, they are going thru the paint prep as we speak, they will be on Monday (acculy Sunday), So Ill have pics of the car up on Monday with alot of the mods finsished..... Michael...

I agree about them looking to boxy for me anyway, but if you like it that's awesome anything that will make you stand out and I think once they are black it will mesh well.
I would definitely consider having SS etched in my mirrors but wouldn't know the first thing about wiring it properly or even how to get the SS done.
