Yes it did. I also added widebody to the description, and that made the cars look better. I admit I don't like the fender flares with the screws that show.

Updated lower grill and then modernized the head lights and tossed on some 10 spoke wheels. And there is still chance for changes to the rear. But I felt this is a sold win because it is a definite Monte Carlo and not to be confused with an Impala.
I totally agree (no offense to the 06+ folks). IMO the Impala restyle itself was a styling failure - very bland and unremarkable, especially compared to the 00 model. Borrowing those mediocre styling cues for the Monte also for budget reasons wasn't a good move. They'd have been better off doing something like this image- a very lightly tweaked 00-05 MC unique look.

The biggest thing about this one below and the next one, the spoiler. I it looks like an attempt at a modern Corvette Spoiler (which I have seen someone do this with a 2000-2005 Monte spoiler and looks darn good).
You're right, I see that now. Defintiely has C6 ZR1 spoiler vibes.

Brought you guys some more images and even included my search. Let's see if these spark up some more conversations.

On a smooth sided body, these would look way better IMO (although I get tbat swoosh is part of the throwback heritage).

On a side note, I really love these hexagon headlights. Never seen anything like that before. Also really dig this color combo with the blue on those wheels.

This batch certainly has a variety of things I like. Some of them have some good aggressive styling. And I have to agree with Bumpin', something different and neat about the hexagon headlights.

When GM was re-designing the 6th gen Monte for the refresh, I wonder how many of these items could have been an option, since they are based off the 2000-2005 design as much as the 06-07 was. It is more or less a custom front and rear bumper, spoiler and slight changes to the existing headlight (the shape would not need to change, just insides). But this may also hurt the idea of having another coupe that might compete with the Camaro.

This gives me an observation. I wonder if GM has been using AI for 5th+ Camaro updates. If so, this also explains why in my opinion the changes are fairly subtle and hard to distinguish between years without being very into the 5th and 6th gen Camaros.

Curious if Monte was truly re-designed from a fresh perspective, keeping or evolving certain styling that the Monte is typically known for (such as the swoops in the fenders and quarters) what could be created without a re-hash of stuff already done before.

I agree with the both of you. I see cues of the Chevy SS in the front bumper and now that I've mentioned it, the SS headlights do look like redesigned 2000-2005 MC headlights.

I reside in Michigan and I've seen this cool looking 06 MC that has the door trim from a 2014 Chevy Malibu and it doesn't look out of place. Custom spoiler and all.

Very nice, I like the red with ground effects. Not my favorite body but it dresses up well..

I have always fancied the older MC styles, 70's and 80's but in the newer body cars, I may be biased as I own the 98 Z34 and just liked the body line then. I think the hex headlights make it look more LIKE a Camaro than an MC. My 2c. Some of these AI cars would look OK in my driveway.... ;-)
