Malibu Hood Fit On Monte Carlo?
Just wonder if the 78 Monte and 78 Malibu hoods would fit each other. Both have about the same design. I have looked for years and havent found anything larger then a 2" cowl hood for the 3rd gen montes. Ive looked and looked and looked lol. Thanks
well if ya cant find one there is always they option of buying just a 3in cowl and having a body shop put it on cut the hood to make functional
Thanks guys. I know that year the A body Malibu and G body Monte Carlo had the same chassis and suspension. The hoods look similar. I guess I ll just have to call a aftermarket dealer and ask. Ive also thought of doing my own cowl but I want to get rid of that steel hood! I do alot of custom fiberglass door panels and consoles for myself and friends for car audio so doing my own hood wouldnt be a biggie. Im thinking 4"s of cowl hood tho

The 1978 Malibu and the 1978 Monte Carlo hoods look similar? The MC hood has more body lines and curves in it than the Malibu. Plus, I think the MC hood is longer than the Malibu hood for that generation. Might be wrong on that, though....

[a pic of my '79 MC, but the hood is the same, 1978 and 1979]

I think all the corners look the same. The top of the hoods are similar but the MC has larger curves. Its closer looking to the Camino hood since ive been looking. But I have found a hood thanks to Donutboy97! Thanks guys. I found my hood!
