you dont need to sand them, clean them good with rubbing alcohol then water to get all the alcohol off, make sure they're dry and clean and spray the vht on lightly first so it doesn't run. the stuff will get thick quick so make sure not to get it too dark.

Two things...I don't agree with the whole no sanding comment. Maybe it's because I am used to automotive grades of paint but never in any of my training and certification tests have I have heard of when you are spraying any coating on surface for the first coat no sanding. Even going from primer coats to a color coat you sand. Now once the first coat of base has been layed you don't sand and all you do at most is use a tack cloth to remove any dibris of any sort.

Also I personally would not use water after alcohol. Once the alcohol dries you're fine and good to go. Maybe distilled water if you really feel you need to. But I would not recommend doing so. I would recommend once its sanded with 4/5hundred grit sand paper use a good wax and grease remover. This and a tack cloth is all you need.

Does the directions say to not sand and to use water? This just goes against everything I have been tought. Not saying your wrong or not to do it correctly by any means.

yeah thats fine, i'm not a pro at it by any means, but that's just how i've found it works best for me and i've done a few sets with good results in the beginning and the end. but hey if your way works for you thats all that matters right?

sand b4 paint always if you want it to hold....alcohol no water,, lint free towel or blow dry and keep the finger oils away,,,
this works for me and I'm not a pro either...just watch others and listen..hate having to do things twice which is why I love the threads on the forums where the paint and body guys can chime in...
