Default Leaking Door

Well a month or so ago my car was broken into, they peeled up the weather stripping on the door and slim jimmed it. Me and a freind of mine thought we had re attatched the stipping correctly, but over the past few days its been raining like crazy and the drivers side of my car is literally flooded. I cant start fixing the interior until this leak is fixed. Everytime we try to get the stirpping on theres always about an extra 1 hanging off the back and it refuses to go on any further, id post pick but i dont have a camera at the moment. Could the striiping or the door be damaged in a way that wont allow it to reattatch? or are we just idiots? please help... i have 3" of water in my car and it keeps raining...

where the weather stirpping meets the side mirror there was a chunk of it missing. I remade the missing peice and permanently attachtched it with silicone, and i drilled some drain holes into the door incase it happened again
