Got my 04 monte painted a couple months ago the color is cherry red. It looks good but the surface looks kinda rough and its shiny but not like you would say a new xar. What do i need to do to the paint job?

 

What sanding process did they use?

I would hit it with 1500 grit wetsand followed by 3000 grit wetsand and then buff it.

 

Okay. Im a little confused. Lol. So wetsand with 1500 grit first. And after that wetsand with 2000 grit. What kind of bonnet do u think i should use? And do i need some rubbing compound? What else will i need?

 

It seems like your a little unsure on how to do this.. So my suggestion is take it to the shop that painted it and show them. Chances are they fix for free.. Id hate to see you go at your brand new paint job with sand paper and screw it all up! Just my 2 cents!

 

sounds like you got some bad orange peel paint there.. it can be wetsanded and buffed but like the above poster said. take it back and simply tell them your not satisifed with the finish..they will to the wetsand and buff.

If they don't fix it for free, wetsand then buff with rubbing compound then give it a nice polish

 

I think even if you have to pay for it to be rubbed out or re-sanded I would leave it to the pros. You could do more harm than good if your inexperienced. Post some pics if you can.

Ya I wouldn't sand it myself..... again take it to the shop that painted it.
