How Do I Adjust Fiberglass Hood?
I bought this parts car awhile back. The hood fit perfectly on that car, but when I swapped it to mine, I had a terrible time getting it to fit. After about an hour of adjusting, I finally got it to where I could close it all the way without it hitting the top of the fenders. When I got it latched, I saw that the driver's side of the hood fit perfectly in all aspects. However, the passenger side is a mess. The entire passenger side sits up about 3/8" above the fender the whole way down and up by the headlight in front, I can get two fingers in between (vertically). Even with the hood pins in, it still has the gap. Is there any good way to get that side down? Thanks!

I have several friends that do body work and they have also worked on the hoods for adjusting. I am not sure but your car probably has the cylinder style lifts for the hood, and maybe just the standard hood hinges. If I were to guess there might be a difference in the weight of the original hood and your replacement, since you indicated body work had been done and they replace the fenders there is a chance that the fenders could be having the issue and not the hood. you may need to adjust them to make it fit. You might need to put a lighter cylinder lift on the hood as well. Once body work has been done to a car it usually changes a lot of the adjustments that worked. You may also need to take the hinges from the doner car and use them if possible. There is most likely a difference that can be found maybe with a tape measure. Good Luck. It should look cool once you have it solved.
