It's a toggle, but only a momentary one. In other words you would have to push and hold the button in order for it to work.

Oh no not that much! Make it easier and pick up a fog light relay kit. Nice thing with hid's, the use less power after initial start up. Actionelectronics makes some really nice switches that I bet you could find one to fit where the fog light button would be
35watts is the output from the hid ballast.

I have three of these mounted in a row in the console where the heated seat buttons would be. That section of console pops right out for easy drilling and wiring. They're a nice low profile switch and blend in quite nicely.

thats what i was planning on doing.

is the relay kit the thing that is sold seperately with its own switch and all? i just wanted to drill a hole and wire it myself and call it a day, would a standard toggle switch work just for the hids? how many amps should i look for in a switch if im just wiring straight to the hids?

The relay kit is sold separate and is only the relay and harness that plugs into the ignitors. As far as the switch goes, with the relay kit installed the HID's pull very little. I don't know the amperage of my switch, but would guess 20A would be fine. Ideally you don't want to run without the relay kit, as using the relay assures you have maximum power at the lights with minimal draw on the system.

and keeps the amperage running across your switch to a minimum. giving you more to choose from when looking at switches.
