Female. First Car. Help!!!
Ok so I brought my first car yesterday and it's a 2002 monte carlo ss. I'm not a big fan, but my mom sold it to me for $500 plus paying for the title n she got everything fixed at 150,000 miles, it has 160,000 now so it was a steal. I like more of that new mustang/camera look so I want to change the front bumper and paint it. I think lOl. Idk the parts I am looking for and I don't want to pay more than I have to. I want like a front bumper, what are lip splitter for? I want to paint it white or black, around hoe much is the labor to put the parts on? I'm very smart so plz tell me everything yall know. It's all about the looks, Idc about the performance.

If you don't like the Monte & you like the look of the Mustangs & Camaro's (?) I suggest trying to trade for something you like & don't put money into your Monte `if you don't like it...
If you keep it original it will sell easier...There's tons of people that love the Monte Carlo & if your Mother had everything fixed, it should sell E.Z> Good Luck
*Note, I'm not very smart, so consider the source : )

im sure you could easily trade it for a mustang, theyre everywhere, but I hate em,il never own a ford.but if since its an ss id put a little money into cleaning it up,fixing any minor body work or interior work then just wait on a mustang to trade,or a Camaro

Honestly if your arent happy with the Monte's looks your best bet would be to sell that 2002 SS and look for a high mileage V6 4th generation Camaro or Mustang (or Firebird, my personal favorite in that generation of pony cars). By the time you add parts and labor for your MC front lip you would probably come out even or close to it.
Just a piece of advice though, if you do decide to look into a 4th gen Camaro or Mustang, test drive one first. They have stiffer suspension than a Monte and thus the ride isn't what I would consider comfortable for a daily driver. My 2001 Monte LS is my daily driver and I love it for that. Its reliable, rides reasonably well, and gets decent fuel ecomomy.
