Lightbulb Black Vinyl for car bodys

Few things I need a piece of black vinyl for my car about 2x2 feet but also would wrapping the wheel wells in clear or even any kind of vinyl prevent rust because it would stop the salt and what not from getting onto the painted surface and just replace it every few years?

I think the rough surface of the wheel wells would be very hard to get vinyl to stick to. Try a professional undercoating.

Ya my car has been undercoated twice but has never been driven in the winter anyways but i am starting to see a little bit of rust inside the wheel wells in the back which i can get off and fix myself but I want to find something to cover them. I have mud flaps and plastic in the wheel well but the inch of body that wraps around is what i want to cover

There's lots of automotive vinyl for sale on the internet. Ebay has a lot too. What are you using it for?

I don't think clear vinyl is going to do much to help protect against rust.. especially if it's already started.

i dont think vinyl is going to stop the rust. i think it is just something that happens with these cars. undercoating will help but if it has started it wont do much for you either

well im getting rid of the rust repainting and all so i was figuring that the vinyl would be another barrier for a while before the salt and what not got to the paint again. But one i want to use the vinyl for behind my grille and second the wells

The vinyl will hold moisture and make your rust issues worse. After fixing the rust you could use pickup truck spayable bed liner. It can be mixed to a specific color and is very durable and doesn't hold moisture.

I've heard the exact opposite. Not to use bedliner because it actually traps moisture in..??

After cleaning the surface apply a polymer based paint sealant to the surface. It will repel salt, dirt, etc. and preserve the metal. Reapply every 6 months and you should be protected all year.
