I didn't notice any huge reduction with light output with the black pair on my 06; maybe a little bit but nothing obviously noticeable. Also, I could not get one of the high beams on that pair to adjust at all. FTW, I took that black pair off of mine and went back to stock; ended up buying a brand new pair of GM factory OEM ones.

 

My only thought mike is there are so many different versions of the Black lights. Maybe some are better than others.

 

It's possible. I might actually go back to the black housing headlights now that the Monte is no more a DD. It truly does finish the look up front on a black car.

 

I have HID kits in my stock OEM headlights. Do the black housings fit the same size bulbs..? (9006 and 9005)

 

Yes they are the same exact headlight, except the insides are painted black on the top and bottom

 

Agreed mike. Really finishes off.the front.

 

I did the same thing I went from stock to black housing with platnium blue 6k headlights and LED switchbacks. I love them.
