Default AHH so PiZZed

So I kept reconditioning my sun roof since it was all nasty and got it looking real good. BUT than when i went to open it it started sticking since the rubber had expanded so much and i literally had to push the window up and out. it seems as if the motor is still good because it alwaysworks and what not but it wont close flush or open without a issue the rubber just keeps getting in the way so im guessing i just should get a new seal so it will fit better ? any inputs?? help me!!!!!

Maybe you could lube it up a bit with some silicone lube or a light grease.

Use Graphite, silicon might cause debris to stick to glass. I would put in a new seal better safe then sorry lol.

Id be curious what you consider reconditioning on your sunroof...

Does this mean you used some off the shelf product on the rubber seals?

Did you R and R the sunroof?... or just "clean" and lube it.

If you happen to have used some off the shelf product, it may have contained some form of petroleum disolate...which caused the rubber seals to swell up...

Which leaves you no choice but to replace all the rubber seals....

U do realize that Vaseline has petrolleum dissolates in it also....In my opinion it will also be a dirt magnet like grease is....o, over a long period of time you may have the same problem ariseing again...

Just a Little FYI.

That's odd...I don't think it was the white lithium grease that caused the seal to swell. I've been using it on rubber seals and weatherstripping for years and have never had a problem like that. It is also what GM recommends using. Did you use some type of cleaner on the rubber prior to treating it with the grease?
