I'm not at all offended at anyone that does not think it is a factory paint, I appreciate the comments.

Do dealers buy the car and then paint them at the dealership? I could probably call the dealer in Ohio and they might remember.

Thanks for your reply, & I was happy to read that you were not offended by the doubts. It's just that many that are into Monte Carlo's have never seen one your color & it was never listed in any of the information available to us. I like it cause it very rare & worth the pursuit to see `if there are 15 produced that special orange color.

* Since it was the last run for Monte Carlo's, it is possible that someone at GM made this request & approved to have a few painted your color...Also, some dealers have customers that will pay to have the color they want that the factory does not have. Also, some cars get damaged in shipment or a member had their Monte keyed, or damaged & decided to have it painted different ?
(I'm not saying yours), but it's been know that some dealers have changed the color to their choice to have a rare color model to sell or at the request of a customer.

You can be proud to state, that you do have one & it's a rare SuperSuper Monte Carlo S.S. 4-Sure...EnJoy

If you do find any additional information, please share with your new Monte Carlo Family...

Wish you safe/happy miles

Trunk lid says L800J for the other color, also hand written. I assume this is the white trim. WA800J online says white diamond in later vehicles and that seems to match.
