Default 2000 SS Driver Side Headlight Assembly

Hey,

I am in desperate need of a replacement headlight assembly for the driver's side on my 2000 Monte. If anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. $100 just seems like a lot. Otherwise, if anyone knows how I could fix the ground pigtail inside the assembly, that is what is wrong with it.

Could always try local junk yards or U-Pull lots.

I might be wrong, but I don't believe a headlight assembly includes ANY wiring. Are you in need of the headlight assembly or a headlight wiring harness?

Don't be surprised if you're having a hard time finding a replacement assembly. Headlight assemblies and tail light assemblies for these cars get bought up from the junk yards quickly. Many times ebay or craigslist is your only option for a used one. And you usually get screwed on the price because the seller knows you couldn't find one at a junk yard.

I've seen some ebay sellers ask as much for a used one, as a brand new one from the dealership.

You might get lucky with someone who has swapped out their stock headlights for an aftermarket set of some kind. But many of them keep their stockers for when they want to de-mod their car.

But like moderator Wayne said, there's no wiring included in the headlight assembly. It's been a while since I've looked at my wire harness. I can't picture the pigtail you're talking about right now.

If you buy a new one it normally won't come with the harness that connects the bulbs to the body harness. You could try to find the harness separately or as stated find a U-Pull yard and hope someone already hasn't snatched it.

The ground in the wiring harness has continuity. I have a jumper wire from the lead on the bulb straight to the ground on the chassis.
