I would agree with Mike on not putting the chrome...I don't agree that it makes it look cheaper necessarily, on some cars it looks more luxurious if it comes from the factory that way and is done well.

However, Chrome down the side of a Monte I think would look bad...It would take away from the sport appeal of the car, and just look gaudy IMO.

yeah too much chrome can look bad... there is a regular customer at my work with an 07ish suburban and he literally has every chrome option you can get on this truck. it looks rediculous! haha i say either leave em alone or do the work to just take em off

Indeed the moulding has protected me from them folks with kids that just force the door open and storm out of the car. And hooligans on shopping carts.

I saw two different monte carlo's yesterday... my gen style... 6th is it?!? with no mouldings on the sides... yet i did not see any holes anywhere and they werent like custom removed cuz one was a little old lady driving it (not to say that old ladies cant be customizing!!!) and the other one was a middle aged lady... so that totally throws off the rumor ive heard about the mouldings... is it maybe just certain years?!?

In 2005 the Monte came without side moldings or a trunk hole. So when in doubt, just look at the trunk and if you see a key hole it's not an 05.

Nah, think I'm kinda with you on this one. In most cases it almost looks like the car is incomplete... Might be because I'm used to seeing them and when you don't see it you think something is wrong. Sort of like the 04 SS not having the Monte Carlo script on the sides, just looks odd for whatever reason.

Have to admit though the molding doesn't seem to stop very many dings, It's saved the door a few times but more then not it's just decoration.
