I don't know about the ZL1, but the other Camaro's come from Oshawa Ontario - out of the same factory as our Monte Carlo's!

The GTR won under those conditions. On a track like Bristol, MIS or Daytona, or even a lighter road course like Watkins Glen, the ZL1 would have eaten the GTR right up. Chevy is using Camaro on road courses all the time now. Camaro's were run in the Rolex 24 and the Daytona road course this year (ironically, they were called Camaro GTR's - finished 4th, Porsche was 1,2 and 3). Nissan didn't even show up to dance. Chevy isn't doing this for no reason - the Camaro has more track proven results.

Are u smoking crack? no way the ZL1 would destroy a GTR on the track just not gonna happen the GTR has a 11.2 1/4 mile time & a top speed of 195 where the ZL1 is 12.1 in the 1/4 & 180 top speed just not gonna happen GTR is straight up faster & better than the ZL1 not to mention the GTR is over a full second quicker to 60 mph than the ZL1, no matter how much road racing chevy is doin the GTR was built for road racing, GTR is the better car hands down

GT-Rs are over rated. They are even slower than a Escalade

I'll take a ZL1 first. They're both great cars but the GTR isn't worth the money in my opinion. Both in cost to buy it an repair cost is really to high.Plus the LS base engine have a near unlimited avalibilty of performance parts.

Those vids are all cars non-stock. But back to the original question: I was wondering how the GTR with less power, less torque and 50lbs more actually outrun the ZL1 by so much in the quarter. Are we attributing this all to the wheel spin on the RWD? Not too many drag cars are AWD. Something isn't adding up if the GTR takes it by a full second.

And thats not to say a fast 1/4 mile beats a car on a mile and a half track. Sprint Cup cars (RWD race cars) can take up to 4 miles to get up to speed

It's the way the GTR comes into power & how it gets the power down, the GTR is an amazing car that shouldn't be taken lightly

The base 2013 Nissan GT-R Premium model starts at $97,820 and the ZL1 starts at $54,995. Is this really a comparison? Really? How would the ZL1 perform if you dropped another $42,000+ into it? Dollar for dollar the ZL1 is clearly the winner. Something else that needs to be considered is mags like Road & Track, Car & Driver, Consumer Reports, etc. used to be all about bringing the facts to the table and equal comparisons. Now they are biased and promote the product of the manufacturer that dumps the most $$$ into their back pocket. The 'comparison' of these two cars is a perfect example of that. It's the same thing as comparing a $500 LCD TV to a $1000 Plasma TV. Which do you think would have the better picture?
