I really don't think this will ever be a completely pollution free world. Not sure if it's even possible.

There's so many things we don't know. We could be doing something today, we think is good for the planet. Only to find out 30 years from now that our good intentions caused some kind of biological or environmental damage we didn't know about at the time.

It was not all that long ago, when people were self-reliant. Everyone had their little piece of land that they grew their food, drank their water, disposed of their own waste, and took their surplus to the big city to sell to the city folk. I as gas goes up, forcing everything tocost more, you are going to see more and more people revamping the homes to be off the grid, solar, wind, etc. I also see more and more people building totaly self-reliant homes that are totally off the grid.

There are new homes that can do it all. They capture rain water, purify it for drinking and bathing. They take waste water and turn it into both fuel and water purified enough for watering the lawn, washing the car, etc. The generate their own power with the waste, trash, and solar. The only service you need is telephone and cable. By growing a garden, and having a chicken poop in the back of the property, you need for nothing.

There are electric, hydrogen, and bio-fuel cars, and with them, you can go totally off the grid, and be 98% self-reliant. Neighbors will work together, I'll grow corn, lettuce, and carrots. You grow onions, potatoes, and green beans, and then we will share.

The thing is, we have the capability right now for most of us to go off the grid! Watch, in the next year, I am adding solar panels to my house. I am planting a garden this spring, and I am buying a few chickens. I am an excellent fisherman, and I am pretty good with a rifle. One deer, a few walleye, some perch and crappie. Sell the Monte Carlo SS, buying an electric car, and within a year I'll be off the grid. Canned veggies in the winter, fresh in the spring and summer. I'll have to buy cleaning products, paper products, and cable tv, but I think I can handle that. But no $5.00 gallon gas, that ya'll are going to be paying by next year. This kid is going to save my money, well... after going broke buying those solar panels!

Not to change this to a religious discussion, but do you honestly believe that a guy that has been dead for 2000+ years will suddenly come back to life and makeeverythingbetter??

YES!!!

Why? Well I think looking at the alternative better sums things up. Say there is no savior. That all millions ofpeople have been told all their lives is nothing more then a story. None of it is actually true.

So now you've lived through your entire life with nothing to look forward to. There's nothing after death other then you get placed in the ground and decay. You had nothing positive in your life to give you some type of hope your life was other thenmeaningless.

People as a whole don't want to believe this about themselves. And I for one don't either.

I do know life is not about any one of us as an individual. We all impact other's we meet in our lives whether it be positive or negative. The little kid you walked past yesterday, did you see him watching you? Did you know you had an impact on his life just by walking past and saying "Hi" to him? He now knows there are older people out there who willbe nice to him besides his mom and dad.He willcarrythis with him the rest of his life. And some day when he's older he will walk past a little kid and say "Hi" to him as well. All because youwalked past one day in 2008.
See I respect the fact that people have something to believe in. I dont see them as wrong I see them as different than me. I believe that the world would be a worse place if people didnt have anything to believe in. A world with no hope is a sad world. I dont think though that my life is any worse than someone who does believe in god. I know that I want a good life and I will work very hard to be a good person and have a good life. I know that if there were a god then being a good person would automatically get me a good life. The reality is though that not all good people have a good life. Alot of good people end up having a hard, miserable life while the bad people in the world get power, wealth and a wonderful life. Like I said if there were a god then this wouldnt happen. When you look through history, you see that gods of the past were used or invented by people to explain pheonomenon and to keep people from doing bad things. Over the years these gods and beliefs changed to fit the circumstances of the time. I think the current god is there to keep people from doing bad things and to get them to make good decisions. Alot of people have accepted god.Alot of them are genuine believers for good reasons but I also think that people believe in god because it is convenient. Today people want to have good things and they want to get them as easily as possible. I think people use god as a way to get things they want. You can sit down in front of the TV for a few hours and get a perfect idea of this. Watch a sporting even: "Thank you god for helping me win" or "god, help me and give me the strength to win my event" Watch a game show or reality show: "Please god help me win the money". I have talked to people who use their prayers at night to pray for things they want like to lose weight or win the lottery. I think if people didnt think god could give them what they want, alot of people wouldnt believe in god. It is just convenient to do so. I truely believe that we are all on our own "down here". Im not saying I want everyone to be a non-believe like me. I dont really care one way or another what someone believes in. I also see that alot ofpeople who believe in god have the mentality that you are wrong and bad if you dont believe in god. Im not saying everyone is like that but there are alot of people that are. I am yet to meet another person that doesnt believe in god that thinks that if you DO believe in god you are a bad

I feel I belive that there is a god, but what if I am wrong, and we just live and die. It's really scary. It's hard. You have to go through life wondering what it's going to be like when you do, do you really just die? Look at it like this.... Can you imagine being in a place for all internity? FOREVER? It's hard to wrap your mind around.

We as humans have no sense of what eternity is. We can only judge time as compared to our general life span. When we think of forever we can only think as far as a lifetime and then we cant comprehend any more. You have to wonder what is better, living on for an amount of time that is so unbelievably long that the most intelligent species on this planet (and for all we know in the entire universe) can not comprehend it, or dieing and everything just stopping? I for one would rather everything just going away and not having to worry about anything anymore.

Matt,

You are right in a lot of your beliefs about what people think. The sad thing is, those people are wrong.Want for nothing, but the Lord, andHe will provide. Live through theLord, and you cannot help butto be good.It is pretty simple, but the Lord is no genie that grants wishes.

As far as Christians living poorly, that is true, and it is also sad, because they do not need too, but they do chose too. See... The Lord gives everyone FREEWILL to live their lives as they chose too. Unfortunately, that means if you have little faith, low self-esteem, do not believe you are worthy of God's blessing, than you get what you expect.

It is the difference between a rich man and poor man. For truly the only difference is, is how they think, and what they expect. A rich man thinks rich. His expectations are high. He does not think of owning a cheap house, a cheap car, cheap clothes, and nor do they thinkof having a low paying job, or a business making a modest income. No... they think of owning a nice house, a nice car, fine clothing, and job or a business making a half million plus a year. On the other hand, a poor man thinks poor. They don't think of living in a mansion or even a nice home. They don't think about owning a Bentley, they think of owning a car period. If it runs, its good. Their self-worth, their expectations are low. You get what you think you are worth, and what you expect. But try and convince a poor man he worth more and they will give youa, "yeah, right... Sure buddy..." It is there FREEWILL!

The second part of that is... Money changes people, and if your desire for money surpasses your love for God, you're cooked, literally. So it is better for the weak of faith to be poor or modest than for them to have it, and have it destroy them. In others words, if God tells you to sell everything you have, and give all your moneyto the poor, do it! and you do it without pause. So you cannot worry about money, or want money, or desire money, for if you are a true Christian, then you know God gives you all that you want and more. So if God told me today to give all that I have to you... I would not think about it, I would give it all to you and walk away naked. Why? Because God provides me with all that I need.

Again, that is only part of it. Love everyone. Respect everyone. Treat everyone with kindness. Help everyone who needs it. Do every task as if you are doing it for the Lord, for you are, and the finished task is a direct reflection of your love for the Father. If a man spits in your face, turn your cheek and offer him to spit on the other side. If a man steals your wallet, give him your watch and ringstoo. Trust God, and trust he will deal with the person that did you wrong. Now here is a kicker... Love the man who just spat in your face, stole your wallet, and forgive them.

Is it easy to be a Christian...
It is more complex than what most people think, for I only scratched the surface. The thing is, it is worth it... it is just not always easy. Christians are not perfect, they make mistakes, but they try to be as good as humanly possible. But there are people in this world that call themselves Christians that are really not, I need not explain, because it obvious who they are.

But I want you to know, I truly respect you views, and your beliefs. I amalso open to hearing them and exchanging view points any time you like.

I glanced at your link Space... I'm for anything that helps people to realize their self-worth, and that motivates them to achieving their desired goals. At no time will you hear me say that being a positive person will not bring you all the things you want in life. For surely it will! A burning desire to achieve is all anyone needs to obtain all that they want here on earth. And I am for utilizingSelf-Suggestion, Autosuggestion, Visualization, and Imaging as tools for self-improvement and personal management. Positive Mental Thinking, Positive Mental Attitude are all good things.

I personally utilize many of these tools in my life. The difference is I incorporate them into my Christianity and utilize them as a tool and not as a replacement for God.For while they will help you to mold your mind, and shape your thoughts, they do nothingfor yoursoul. As a result, you need to continuously run through the exercises just to keep your mind right. Where when you incorporate them into your faith in God, and yoursoul is strong and healthy, it is the spirit, your soulthat keeps your mind right and tools are not needed on a continuous basis to achieve the same results. In fact, you need only to run through the exercise once to achieve the same results, where if you are just utilizing the tools, you need to run through them on a daily basis until the goal you are hoping for is achieved. A Huge difference.

Now I will admit, on my website I recommend people run through some of the exercises daily, only because it helps the weak in faith to achieve. And a lot of times, people have to achieve success in one thing before they accept they can do it, and achieve it, with just their faith. It is like putting training wheel on a bike to teach someone how to ride. So I lower the training wheels down and slowly lift them until they are no longer needed. Helping the weak to establish confidence.
