I've been cleaning/detailing some parts for one of my '57s. I happened to notice this.

It reads:
Delco.
Moraine Prod. (the plant was actually located in Moraine, OH)
Dayton, OH USA

At one time Delco was a leader in making brake parts. More for GM vehicles then Chrysler or Ford. Most brake parts are now offshore pieces.

You can rebuild a wheel cylinder? Hmmm.... didn't know that!

No one ever sees them. Course, could be why the peddle is so hard to push on my Torino.

SURE! It's good to hone them to get the roughness out of them. The old style brake fluid was a moisture magnet. Moisture in the brake system leads to failure. Since the small cups and other parts of a wheel cylinder rarely move much, the inside bore of the wheel cylinder (and the master cylinder) corrode leaving a rough surface. But as long as the pits aren't too many or too large you can hone the bore and re-use the part.

I have more. lol

A member on Chevy Talk posted someone who advertises in Hemmings re-builds brakes parts for older cars. They use stainless inserts in the bores for the wheel and master cylinder.
