Ha nice topic, something one does not see in the lower end cars. It's basically a rev limiter and helps rookies like myself launch so were not breaking the tires loose right out of the gate. Bet the stock Jeep AWD SRT8 gets a few peoples notice when they see her take off from the line.
And interestingly enough my Monte has a Launch Control button as well, hey hey what can I say, I'm a rookie at the track.

The new Mustangs with the premium package have a "Track App" that will measure your 0-60, 0-100, 1/8th, 1/4 mile, and other things. Not quite a launch button but it is along those lines. And yes, I do like having that option... even if it will probably get me killed one day.

1968 Ford Falcon Futura 351W - $3200 (East Orlando)
1968 Ford Falcon
Rare 1968 Ford Falcon Futura, rebuilt 351W engine, rebuilt C4 transmission with B&M shifter. Lakewood traction bars, rebuilt front end suspension with new upper and lower control arms,shocks etc. All new brakes with front disc and rear drums. Ford 8.8 Rear end with Spider gears. Brand new seat upholstery and factory formed carpet. New electrical fuse block. No rust on the body. NO A/C just the compressor is there.
THE CAR WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:
- Front end alignment.
- Window trim
- Headliner
- Dash pad
- Heater core and box
- Windshield has a crack on the passenger side(does not affect driver vision)
- Exhaust from manifolds back.
- Hood is damaged on both corners.
- Weatherstrip for doors, trunk etc.
- No speedometer (I do have the original speedo and gauges)
- Passenger and driver floor boards were previously replaced with new metal.
All of these items are available and not expensive on ebay. This classic has lots of potential..
I recently inherited a 1966 Mustang and have no time for this project.
