What's your take?
Continuing to see these articles are getting slightly annoying in my opinion...
The family is blaming Stewart still, long after the accident.
I think the video is obvious, Ward should have stayed in the vehicle if he didn't want to get hit (would you get out of the vehicle in the middle of moving traffic and expect not to get hit?)
Also, they found traces of Marijuana in his system... marijuana is said to have effects on judgement, I think this just works against the Ward family.

Dark out , with glare off the track lights.
Rules are stay in car.
Rules are race back to the caution flag
Tony is to good a driver and professional to hit the kid on purpose.
Tony had no plus side to do this .
Now he gets to live with this death on his mind constantly.

Correct stay in the Car
Here is a photo of a winged sprint racer. With the wing off this is the passenger side of the car and the wing drops of the roll bar on this side. Now if you are on the track and its dark and you are moving around and other drivers are trying to obey the caution they aren't expecting some Bird Brain to be on the Track, the visor on your helmet is going to be dirty, and you can't see Jack Sh*t. Stay in the Car they tell you this in the drivers meeting prior to the beginning of the Race.

To me it looked like Kevin was trying to get his hands on Tony while his car was passing by. Mistakes... He shouldn't have gotten out of his car. He shouldn't have let his anger get the best of him and start walking across an active racetrack, chasing a moving car. He shouldn't have had weed in his system, imparing his judgement.
Kevin was wearing a black firesuit on a dimly lit dirt track at night. Tony's view of Ward was obscurred by another car in front of him, until it was too late.
I'm sorry their son died. But Kevin's parents need to face the facts. Kevin caused his own death that night. If he would've stayed in his car, or waited until after the race to go after Tony, he'd probably still be alive today.

my 2 beans on this issue. Had it been any other driver involved other than stewart and just another local driver this issue wouldnt have been nearly as public. Then again if it were anyone other than stewart that he had the initial contact with starting the crash, i doubt he would have gotten out of the car. It was just more of an ego thing. Either way it was a horrible accident, weed in his system or not.
By time all is said and done stewart will prob pay out some $$ to the family just for his mind sake and try as best to move on.
nascar does do drug testing on all licensed members not just drivers but anyone that posseses a license from the guy airing up the tires all the way up to owners. hell you take to many sudafed for a head cold and you will fail a nascar drug test.
