Default What Do You Think My Car Is Worth?

You hear people ask that all the time.

I found a 2001 Monte on the net for sale not far. The car has 45k miles on it and the seller wants $5k.

The bank says it's too much money for the year and they doubt they'll go a loan?

It'd be nice to get the car and give it to my g/f (mainly so she'll give me my car back) but she does need a decent running car.

This Monte is black and one of the Intimidator Montes sold that year.

Think $5k is too much for it?

I don't know to much about what those Montes are worth, but I know I would love to find an '01 or '02 Trans Am like that for only $5k. Is it close enough to you to go check out? I'd say the best thing would be to check it out and give it a test run, then you can figure if you wanna shell out the cash.

It's 50 miles from the house.

So it's not right next door, but not 1,000 miles either.

The seller said to give him a call and we could talk about the car.

Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes. Ve

Space, thanks for doing the KBB on a '01 Monte.

I don't understand the bank saying the car wasn't worth the money?

We all know anyone who owns an '01 Intimidator Monte isn't going to accept $5k for their car.

I asked the seller when I just talked to him if the price was negotiable? He said not by much.

BAYVIEW BANK... They finance up to 150% of book value (wholesale trade value),will finance up to 120-months, and WILL FINANCE OLD cars.

Most banks only finance vehicles 5-years old or less, that have less than 90,000-miles.

5K sounds like a smoking deal on an Intimidator series with 45K on the ticker..

Used car values vary from state to state, I use Autotrader to see what car prices run in areas I plan to buy vehicles. I purchase several a year for the company I work for.

A 2001 SS in my area averages around $9000 - $11,000 for one that has around 75,000 miles.

You might want to consider using a credit card convenience check.I bought a used car like this about 10 years ago.I had a card with a low rate, used one of their "checks" they sent occasionally, and bought a car.The interest rate was LOWER than a bank for a used car loan, and I had the title.I never would have gotten a used car loan from a bank anyway due to the car being 30 years old.
