Vacation Pictures
Ok, i've been saying im gonna start a topic all week so here it is:p
The past week i was camping down in amish country in Pennsylvania. In a town south of Reading,PA called Narvon,PA. We stayed in a campground called "Lake In Wood Resort" the campground itself was very nice, clean and well kept. But from check in some of the staff members were quite nasty But so be it i suppose...
Anyway, one of the first days we(my family and another) went to Intercourse,PA to visit this place called the Kettle Kitchen Village, which is your typical tourist hub full of shops and so on. We took a buggy ride out to a working amish farm and i honestly was very intrigued as to how the amish live and work so i really enjoyed it.
Pics..
Typical Amish buggy
Harvester, note the steel wheels and no PTO, instead there is an onboard diesel engine. This would be pulled by a mule team. The amish do use things like tractors, but only diesel and they all have steel wheels.
Another day my family headed to Strasburg,PA. Took a ride on the strasburg railroad and my dad and i went to the Pennsylvania railroaders museum. I wont bore you with pics from there except a couple.
They have a board with tons of plaques for railroaders in the museum here. One of them is my grandfathers as seen below. Both of my grandfathers actually worked for the railroad. My other one worked for Penn Central and then New York Central and i believe he worked in Grand Central Station.

Heres some shots of our campsite
Our stupid "gnome mobile" rental golf cart. This thing was as basic as can be and was junk Brakes groaned(barely worked) the wheels made a strange popping noise and it squeaked. We rented a golf cart in disney's campground and it had mirrors, horn, headlights, tail lights, battery guage. This had none of that
For comparison heres the disney one, even had bumper guards

cool pics, that is not at all far from Ryan (skykark65) I was up that way back in 2009 for my first car show at the Delaware Water Gap, I also see you have a mini weber grill, I was thinking of getting one of them for my place.......

Cool pics, I would like to camp this year but it probably wont happen. My wife and I were thinking about taking our youngest and staying in a cabin at one of the State parks but nothing is solid yet.
