Good afternoon friends. Luch time at work ..... Yep wearing my jeans and another Hodrod tee but no bosses here today
An old uncle of mine passed last night at age 100 a WII vet. of German decent. He served as a medic in North Africa in the 5th army. He never took a life but saved a few.
His fav story was how he saved two German officers that where prisoners. Some Russians (or maybe Italian I forget) soldiers where going to exicute them but my Uncle and his buddie told these soldiers they would take these prsioners back to their squad for questioning seeing they where officers. The Germans where so grateful to my uncle they gave him thier swords as graditude (I have seen these swords in his den recently). So these prisoners where safely delivered to the American command. My uncle could speak german and would often act as interprator during questioning of prisoners. He also got shrapnel trying to rescue american wounded during a straffing raid by Geman aircraft.
Salute Cpl. Emil Weiss RIP

Good morning/afternoon to all. The girls are feeling better and they slept all night long which means so did I. I crawled out of bed at about 11:00. Some people think I'm a lazy *** but when you work second shift it changes your day around some. I usually don't finally get to sleep until somewhere between 3 and 5 a.m.. I have to get ready for work in about an hour. I hope there isn't much broken in the kitchen.
Tadd I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. He sounds like a very noble and courageous man.
Have a good day everybody. I'll try to check back later. Gregg

Dustin, that sucks about the rough month. We did well to get out in just under an hour and a half of OT (I have ALMOST 3 hours of OT for the week and we've only worked two nights). From what I hear, it's gonna be like this all the way up until Christmas shutdown. Also supposed to be two 6 night workweeks between now and Thanksgiving. Hopefully they're both after I get on hired full time and not the last two full weeks of October since I could use the money. Gotta save up for a radio and a trunk lid with a vertical spoiler LOL.
