i watched it in 3D tonight. i thought i was good especially in 3D. better than the second but i think the first was the best so far. I did think the 2 hr 30 min runtime was a little much tho cus there were a few parts where i lost a little interest. but overall you cant say no to fighting robots

 

OK, I just want to repeat the "spoiler alert" as I'm giving some of it away for those who have not seen it.

And if you continue to read on, you have been warned!!

At first I thought "Sentinel Prime" was going to be "Alphatrion", clearly NOT (Alphatrion would never make a deal with the Decepticons).
BUT, it was awesome to have Leonard Nimoy doing a voice for a TF character again (for those of us that grew up with the 80's cartoon series, Nimoy voice Galvatron from the animated movie in '86).
I think I was the only one in my group to catch the gag line Nimoy had of "the need of the many out weigh the needs of the few" (classic Mr. Spock).

ALSO, for those who grew up with the 80's series, here's some trivia:

1. - The main plot of this story (bring Cybertron to Earth's orbit) sorta mimic's WHAT 80's 3-part episode?
2. - Again, with the 80's series, what is the relevance to the name "Carly" (Sam's new girlfriend)?

I found it real interesting the humans who chose to work with the Decepticons in the 3rd movie. Interesting twist (as in the cartoon series, it was very seldom you saw humans partnering with the Decepticons and those who did were obvious "bad guys").

 

Answers:

1. The Ultimate Doom. And it saw the partnering of a human and Decepticon with Dr. Archevil (spelling). A minature version of him came with the Japanese Masterpiece Starscream (part of my collection).
2. Carly was Spike's love interest in the original animated series ended up being Spike's wife and Buster's mother

This is a good game, but I don't have time to throw the ball back right now. I'll come up with some trivia of my own later. We did this when the last movie came out too, didn't we?

 

Close enough. The kid's name was Daniel. Regardless, you got to the point of both questions

I'm sure there is more trivia to be had from that movie.

And to add about the Ultimate Doom episode, it was only Dr. Archevil that partnered with the Decepticons, as he wanted to "rule the world/Earth". He developed the "Hypno-chip" that when placed on a human made them his slaves so they could harness the energy from the natural disasters caused by bringing Cybertron into Earth's orbit.

OMG - I said Buster!!! Is my face red! Buster was Spike's brother's name in the comic series, who was actually the main human character in that series. Spike never came along until the Headmasters with Fortress Maximus showed up. I'm so damn old that my mind is playing tricks on me cuz that should have been an easy one for me. ...

 

Trivia:

1. Name the Autobot "Wreckers" in Transformers: Dark of the Moon
2. Name the driver's and car owners of their "disguises" in Nascar
3. Which Wrecker is not derived from a Transformers Generation 1 Autobot character? Who was the first of the 3 characters in toy production (in America)?

 

I admittedly only saw the new movie once so far.... So I know I did not catch the names. But if I was to take a guess, I would assume one of the names of a wrecker would be "Wreck Gar" (seeing as he was the leader of the Junkions on the Planet of Junk as mentioned in the '86 cartoon movie).

 

I'm not even sure they mentioned all their names in the movie to be honest. The trivia extends a little past the movie - maybe those ones were too hard. Sorry...
