127 in my monte!

 

Exactly what Monte Carlo was this?

 

Highest speed I ever got to was 114-115MPH in my 2003 Monte Carlo SS...I can't tell if the governor kicked in or if the engine had nothing left, because it took forever to go from 105 to 115, and I was on a flat stretch of highway.

 

2005 Silverado - 110
2002 Mack Truck - 100 (on a downgrade)
2000 Monte Carlo - 105
1969 Superbee - 140

 

About two years ago I belive I hadthe Deuce around 130 MPH (Was to afraid to take my eyes off the road) althoguh I did get a glimps of the Speedo. I was racing a Mustang GT (I was ahead) I don't and wont do that again. Was stupid of me

 

WOW!!!! I've gotta catch up to you boys! The fastest I've gone (in the Monte) was 100 on a long stretch of highway 57 in Illinois.

and the reason it becomes a pooch around 105 is the computer is tuned to shortshift into overdrive (4th) at 108, 3rd will go to 140 at around 6000 revs so that shortshift is a doozy, then fourth i haven't had the cahones to top out... yet.
i'm waiting to do my gen5 swap and injectors

 

I think the fastest i've done is 100 in my monte, i'm always afraid if getting nabbed by the cops, i have terrible luck. In the horizon my top speed is unknown, i was going fast but i was well off the end of the speedo which stops at 85. I'd have to take a gps with me and see how fast it was

 

Lets see ...In the Chevelle I buried the speedo ONCE. In the Monte maybe 85 getting on the freeway. On Motorcycles. 100 / 110 . It was a club thing. The 100 mph club. Kind of scary on 2 wheels. If anything happens your as good as ??? Just kiss it goodbye! I don't have the need for speed as I once did. NOW I'd rather just cruise in a clean good sounding Car. Or even Motorcycle.

 

i have to take mine with when i do a speed run, 140 comes up quick and there's no more gauge
