I want it to be like the senior citizen's that raised me said how it
was where they grew `up.

They left the keys in their cars, and never locked the door
to their home unless they were going out of town for more
then one day. WoW

Is there any place like that anymore ?

If so, please let us know 4-Sure

Up by my parents I feel 100% safe depending on where I go. I know at my parents I never once lock my car. The house is usually unlocked.

Here in Philly, I still feel safe (the part I live in) but I do lock everything all the time, car and house.

Yes, we live in a nice neighborhood, but there are some punk *** kids that live a couple of houses down from us. My fiance and I have to leave out one of our cars outside in the summer time because there is no room for them in the garage. I ALWAYS lock my car, but on a few occasions, my fiance didn't lock his car (his 06 Mini Cooper S). Well, one of those kids decided to go into his car and steal his ipod out of the glove box. Our neighbor across the street didn't lock his car either and he got stuff stolen out of his car too. Moral of the story is: I don't care where you live, you always lock your car because there is always someone out there that will do stupid stuff like that.

i don't particularly feel safe at home or at work. work is worse, the office got broken into a couple months ago, and it's in a pretty bad part of town (not the worst part, but not a great part). the window is still boarded up from when it got broken into. luckily i'm able to park my car somewhere where i can see it at all times.

at home the area is a good neighborhood, but there have been a lot of break ins. the house i live in got broken into when i was (wow a long time ago) probably like 10 or 11, when my grandmother lived there alone, i'll never forget my uncle calling my house at like 3 in the morning to tell my dad. a couple houses right around me have been broken into recently, and there was a break in and rape right across the street about 4 years ago. THAT scared the living sh*t outta me. it's part of the reason i started a baseball bat collection. the only one i have that is in mint condition is a jason giambi louisville slugger from oakland in 1998, not cracked or anything, and i keep it right next to my bed. luckily i'm a light sleeper and if anyone ever tried to break a window or anything i'm sure i'd hear it. i am paranoid a lot though at home when i am alone!!

J.J., Mike, Amy, Jamie & all who posted on this subject,
I appreciate your posts/words/contributions.
I learn a lot about our World on the MCF.

I wish our country would spend some of it's money on
fighting the War on Crime, instead of going to other
countries & fighting their problems/battles b-4 we resolve ours : (

I'm not saying we should not help others, but I think
we would be better `off taking care of our own home (country) first,
and lead by example, rather then force.

How can I tell others how to live, & be safe in their country or home,
if my country, & home is not safe.

Am I the only one that thinks this way ?
Peace/Love...Not War

There just seems to be to many people hurting others : (
It's not a pretty story 4-Sure.

Your THoughts ?

sadly there's always going to be good people and bad people, i think. there are always going to people who feel they need to go against the grain of society.

Same here. There are always going to be good and bad people no matter where you go.

I have always said the same thing. We need to worry about healing ourselves before we start helping other. The world may be getting stronger, but were getting worse financially.

I just heard today that the GoodYear plant may be closing and relocating to Mexico if it doesn't get what it wants from the Gov. If that happens, i can see the crime rate skyrocketing.

Yes Space, I wish our country would spend the time and money to help the people here, hunger and crime shouldn't exist as much as it does.
