That was my first thought, gotta see how much of an aftermarket there is for this engine, I assume its pretty decent but not like the 351 Cleveland thats the other option on this model.
Edit, apparently the M blocks are all pretty interchangeable. And they are very torquey. Im excited

Yup, is a 9:1 compression ratio but some were 9.6:1. Hopefully thats the one the torino has. Then just get the intake manifold for a 4 barrel carb, a nice cam and the HP starts getting up there.
... Damn, if you were closer, I'd build it with you...Good evening everyone... David, nice find, you'll have no issues taking her to 350hp... Holly 650 double Pumper (I think they are a 670 now a days)... I would not change the intake if it is a 4 barrel, a 1" spacer is plenty good (if you do need an intake, Elderbrock is your best bet, medium rise)... You'll need a super coil (Excell)... Timing advance 3 degrees... If you shave the heads, you should easily achieve 10 to 1 compression which is plenty healthy... Headers are a must... 2.5" exhausted as these big brutes need back pressure... 3800 stall converter and a modest shift kit... Magnaflow stainless... Some low gearing in the back... And Viola, 350 + HP, enough to melt your tires off, as there is no weight back there...

I do believe its a 4 bolt.
Damien I screen shot that so I have something to reference back to. Haha. Its going to be a money pit I just know it. But im really interested in building an old V8 muscle car. Most my engine knowledge is with newer engines so I can't wait to get to work on an old carbuereted gas guzzler

)... Not too familiar with FORD after market, but the concepts are exactly the same... Forgot to mention, you can also switch your distributor to a modern electronic one, that is the only modern switch I would make, the rest would be old school...
