Matt, you were right - I set the air temp. the way I wanted it and drove around for a while NOT TOUCHING any controls (except the brakes, steering wheel and go pedal). When I turned the car off, the sound was gone. Since then I've parked the car several times and there was no tapping. Thanks so much for your help! I watched the videos and they were extremely helpful, so I made my husband watch too.
