Actually Lou Walt Disney himself instituted the policy. This is why he mandated a clean cut wholesome look. There are no visible tattoos allowed either. Disney doesn't have employees, we are all cast members and anywhere the guests or public see us, it is referred to as on stage and we put on a show. When ever we are on stage we have to act accordingly. We put on such a good show that some people actually think we are not real People with human body functions. Yes there are people that dumb. Walt was also a smoker and there are rumors that he also liked the ladies. As a guest you won't see any of that at Disney parks.
