Mornin guys. Home from work now. We started terribly and by the time we rotated an hour before lunch, we still only had 165 in the buffer. Curtis and Jackie came out and when Jackie saw where the buffer was, he nearly crapped himself. Ben and I were at final and rear line was practically empty, and we were yelling trying to light a fire underneath them. It was backed up all the way to bucket line too. We were pissed. Even told Curtis (who's way higher in the food chain than we are) that he needed to go back there and "put a f-ing boot in their *** before I go back there and shove mine so f-ing far in there that they'll be tasting leather for a week". That got Jackie's attention real quick cause I don't cuss nearly as much as I used to. He also knows I'm an instructor and probably knew I was close to clicking over to drill sergeant mode. That would NOT have been pretty and he's prior service so he knows what it would have looked/sounded like. He told me that in the future if we have an "oh crap" moment like that, that I need to get my phone out and call him. I try not to use my phone on the line unless I'm ahead (and I'm technically not supposed to even do that) but I'll have to remember that if that ever happens again. Not good when the shift superintendent hits panic mode. Even he was helping push seats off. Curtis tried to help but kept getting in my way. He finally got the message and got out of the way completely. We ended up pushing off 50 seats that hour (we're supposed to push off 38 an hour if we're not coming off a break) and I was wore the hell out.
Mike, I know the G8 GXP and Caddy has available RWD manuals, but lets face it, even the G8 is still out of reach for most, whereas the Infinitis (albeit w/o a V8 but still a 300hp V6) even 07-08 are more affordable now and were lower in initial price than the GXP. Heck, a G35 might be within reach for me later this year if I decide to not take on another project. Those G35s are going from 8-10 grand (for the 03) up to 20-25 for the 07s and 08s. I'm talking FULLY LOADED G35s, factory nav, backup cameras, bluetooth, all the creature comforts that you expect out of a luxury car, the works. The G8 GTs, which are not available with a manual (one of my ex-g/fs just got one), are right around 20k from what I've been seeing (I think she paid 21 for hers). Kendra said the GXP was nowhere remotely affordable for her, and I don't make much more than she does. The Caddys aren't even worth mentioning, as they're not affordable for anyone remotely close to average household income in this area (and I'm well below that).
There's just something about the Infinitis that really stirs something within me though. It's really the first non Big 3 vehicle that does it for me to that extent (I like the Altimas a lot, especially the SE-Rs, but they're still FWD). The G8 honestly does nothing for me. I know it sounds wierd coming from a GM person and someone who appreciates Pontiacs, but it just doesn't do it for me like most Pontiacs do. Same goes for the GTO as well too though. Honestly, take away the grille, and it's not really all that unique IMHO. Even the 04+ Grand Prixs have the same problem, just to a somewhat lesser extent. I know a lot of people love it because it's basically a Holden, but the exterior of the Holdens never did much for me. Only thing about them that does is the drivetrains (especially the whole RWD/6spd L67 thing). The G8 is also way too tall for my taste. Look at one next to a Grand Prix (even the taller 04+) and you realize just how tall it is. Shoot, the size of the new Camaros bothers me a little, but they're distinctive enough in their styling that it makes up for it. I gotta admit too, the latest body style of Mustang looks really really good to me, with the exception of the tail lights.
So there's a recap of my night, plus some car talk for the morning. I'm gonna start heating up some food and pouring a glass of bourbon. I keep waking up way too earlier so I think I'm gonna stay up a hair later today.

Wow, Sarge. I definitely wouldn't want to pi$$ you off.
Day one of my days off this week. And I'm spending it Monte-less. Got a call from the stealership yesterday afternoon. They said I need a new fuel filter. But also the engine light is on because the O2 sensor in the U-bend is faulty. They don't have it in stock, so they're gonna have to overnight it and get it today.
They haven't put my car up on the hoist and looked at the sensor directly yet. How do I know this? Simple... they didn't say a word about the fact my resonator has been replaced with a straight piece of pipe. This dealership really tries to sell you up on service you don't need/want. They no doubt will want to replace my exhaust system when they see it's been altered.
They wanted to replace my plugs at a price of $230, and replace the wires for an additional $220. Uhh... let me think about that.... NO.

Lol Lou I'm pretty hard to **** off until you get me in a fast-paced environment and I feel that you're not moving fast enough (unless I'm training you, then I'm pretty patient). I knew the buffer was nearing "oh crap" territory though and knew we had to push those seats off FAST.
Jerry, hope you get your Monte back. That's been going on for quite a long time.
Speaking of beards, I haven't shaved since I last had drill over a month ago. I have a nice little beard going. I still have a little over two more weeks before I have to shave again (I'll have to shave for drill of course) so we'll see what it looks like by then.

Gregg I never understood why some company's are strict on certain things but other things that seem more important don't matter. The place my wife works will fire you on the spot for even having you cell with you while but other not showing up for work will get you a write up. and after 3 you'll get a talking too.lol WTF?
