BBMike-I missed the MCF too!!!
Sorry I was MIA today!!! I drove the 84 to a friends house and he provided stand by assistance and guidance as I tore the rear end of my car apart!!!! OMG What I thought was going to be brake shoes and wheel cylinders ended up being MUCH more. The bearings were shot to pieces too and gear oil was everywhere.
SO......I tore into the differential and learned how to loosen things without having all the spider gears fall out...then I pulled each axle and bearing....Axles fine but bearings GONE!!!!!! Learned how to replace wheel cylinders without twisting a kink in the brake line and properly replace brake shoes and adjust the brakes!!! The entire process took me 5 hours!!!! This would have made for a hilarious live streaming video!!! LOL Cussing and all!!!
I am sore, tired, and starving...LOL But I am NOW ready to race.
I did find out that I had my wiring all wrong on my fan but now I know how that must be done...so that will be completed sometime this week.
So now I have tons of posts to read through...LOL

Hi `Barbara,
Sounds like you had a very productive day & learning experience.
It's great that your axle's were not damage & that you replaced the bearings. What is your Rear End Ratio ? 4:11 or 4:56 ? Posi (I hope)
I miss being able to work on cars...I'd love 2 be able to help ya.

Thanks 4 posting/sharing.. Hope U can rest 2night & enjoy your `eve...

BBMike-
My rear end gear ratio is 2.41. Once I do some drive train mods it will be 3.73

HEYYOO. Just felt inspired to check in guys! Back at school at Villanova this spring semester, and I'm doing well. Monte is running fine, everything is in order, just need a paint job come summer.
