I was out on the roads last night and they were absolutely horrible, like the plows hadn't touched most roads. We do have enough plows and the capability to clear roads adequately. Usually never an issue as the county does a decent job clearing. I don't understand why this snowfall was bad. Definitely the worst I've seen in at least 5 years. The county does use salt and sometimes sand. They also sometimes use a spray that is like a liquid salt mixture.

Just cleared our drive; I'll be staying in today.

As for the car, it usually does well in the snow but yesterday was just bad. I got stuck multiple times but was able to eventually get moving again. The snow on some roads was up to the undercarriage of the car. Last winter we never had that issue so this was the first snowfall with the Cruze where it was that deep. The Cruze has OE Michelin all-seasons and they're getting low on tread which probably didn't help yesterday.

Devin, do you have snowfall totals for all areas effected by this snow storm? I'm curious as to widespread snow totals.

Good Morning EV1
SpaceRider:
Thanks for starting the daily blog!

Devin:
Thanks as always for the weather report...
We received between 5 and 7 inchs here at home. Fortunately my neighbor Bud used his snowblower to clean up my sidewalks and driveway... Which I always appreciate since Ilive on the corner and theres a lot of sidewalk to clear.
Thanks Bud!

Matt:
The liquid they some times use is Calcium Chloride. I have a lot of experience with that Liquid...when we were hauling dirt in the dead of winter we'd have to spray down the dump boxes which were all metal of course... That way it wouldn't stick/freeze in the box..

The city just came thru and plowed our streets...whata mess they make a blow all that crap right back into the driveway.... Grrrrr

Hope EV1 has a Great Day
Stay safe out there in your travels!
