Good evening MCF'ers! I've never signed in this late but I didn't want to let the day go by without saying hi to my fellow Monte lovers. Took the car out to the highway this afternoon for the first time in a week. It was loads of fun but my friend Woody told me not to get it up past 95 - so I didn't, cuz I always listen to him and do exactly what he says. Is everybody having a good automotive weekend? Are your cars clean and shiny? That's good...cuz that's what counts in life: the guy with the shiniest toys wins.
At Disney's All Star Music resort Connor and I walked thru the resort. This is the resort I started my Disney career at almost twelve years ago. They have two buildings that are themed to look like a Broadway Musical Theater. The front entrance looks like a box office and it has a street in front of it. When I worked there they used to keep an authentic New York City Checker cab on the street. Across from this is the rock themed buildings. The entrance of these buildings look like a huge juke box complete with neon lights. In front of these buildings was a nice black 57 Chevy Bel Air two door hardtop. Sadly both cars were gone.I had been told that the vintage cars on property had come from the Harrah car collection and were acquired by Disney when the museum was closed. Many of them were altered or cut up to make parade cars out of. The parade cars get set up with electric motors. Others are used for static display. Many of them get sold off at property control without titles and certificates of destruction. It is shameful. I digress. Also at Disney's Allstar Music resort is a pool that looks like a piano. Aside of that pool is a life size mermaid Ariel, Flounder, and Sabastion. I took pictures and will eventually blow them up and hang them in Ariels room. I named her after this character. Who couldn't love a gorgeous red head who goes after what she wants and doesn't take no for an answer?
From the Allstars we drove over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. This is a premium priced resort and we expected a large holiday display in the lobby. All that was there was a large tree, some lights, garland, and wreaths. We were disappointed. There is a balcony and we stood on it. From the balcony we were able to see Giraffes, wildebeasts, ostriches, zebras. And some other birds. The kids really enjoyed the view.
From there we went over to Disney's Beach Club Resort. It is themed to look like a turn of the century New England coastal resort. By this time it started to rain. Under the portocachere there in a corner was parked a teens or twenties Chevrolet woody wagon. It was in nice shape and really cool. We walked into the lobby and sitting there was a carousel going round and round. Much of it was built using gingerbread. Next to it was Snow Whites castle also made of gingerbread. It was mounter on a turntable and it rotated. They were both awesome. There is a You Tube video on the making of it. I don't have or know how to post that link.
After this visit we headed home. I'm exhausted. Early to bed tonight.

Theres some 2012 thing on discovery. IMO the whole end of the world in 2012 is a load of crap..... But amusing to watch atleast.
Hey all. waiting for Dexter and the sunday night game. Stressed out over my son's car. It wont even turn over. tried to jump it and it won't do anything. The starter is only a year old. and the battery has over 12v. I'm scratching my head. I might make him take it to a mechanic because he's not doing nothing about it.
