i remember there used to be a '69 firebird sitting at a somewhat local shop that someone dumped onto a K5 blazer 4x4 frame.... poor thing. then there was the yugo about a mile from my house that the guy put on a sazuki samuri frame ( the sammmy flipped) and the guy plowed with it! that was funny

big wheels
Another case in point. A 1975-79 Bonniville ( like a Caprice ) pulled up beside me
today during lunch hour. I was in my S10. The rocker panels were even with the
door handle of my truck and it sounded like a logging truck going down the road.
And then while coming home I saw a 4th gen MC ( 88 ?) going the opposite
way on the freeway and it appeared to have had 24-28" rims.
Why ?

I agree it's a bad fad that needs to die, but the placement in the rear makes sense if you think about it. Where do ***** hang? Between the legs, I hope. If the headlights were the car's "eyes", and the front tires were the "hands", then ... Get it? Of course, taking that into consideration, the realistic location to hang them would be from the center of the rear crossmember/axle. But then hardly anyone would see them.
