Default Sitar Virtuoso Ravi Shankar Has Passed

Best known for his involvement with the Concert for Bangladesh, Ravi Shankar has left us at the age of 92. His influence on Western music is well documented over the past several decades, but most know him because of his musical corroboration with George Harrison, The Beatles and David Crosby. He will be greatly missed

Heres just a guess.....

Im betting maybe 92% of the people on here have no idea who he is...
Me personally (showing my age)...I know exactly who he is...and was a part of my musical enjoyment....since the late 50's and early 60's and beyond....

Living til 92.....I'd say he lived a long rich life!

RIP! RAVI...

Hi `David, I knew who he was because I was raised by my grandfather & his senior citizen friends & some had his music.

I don't have any of his music, but I enjoy some of it & admire his talent...I've listened to alot of music from the 40's to present day tunes...Our Beach Bum family sings a lot & when we were out working the boats it helped on long working journey's
4-Sure...I'm not a good singer, but we have fun singing together when we get together over the holidays & special events...
Thanks Seattle `Mike, for posting & sharing...I do wonder how many member's knew who he was ?
Peace/Out...
