So what exactly happened? Did the person that hit you stop or did they drive away. My second job I had was working at giant eagle and I remember one day when I was out pushing carts, some old guy in a lincoln or some big car backed out into another driver who was in the isle. The old guy just drove off, I ran beside the car while it drove down the isle right next to the window and he didnt even see me signaling him. The guy he hit drove after him. I never did find out if he caught him or not.

...I understand your frustration and can relate. I had a guy run a
red light and I plowed right into him. My S10 hasn't been the same
since. It was near spotless before that wreck......
However, people aren't perfect and WE ALL screw up sometimes
and it's just a fact of life that no one likes. I do agree that once
people reach a certain age they should be given a drivers test
again to check reflexes and speed control. Having watched my
Parents get progressively worse with their driving ability is a
testiment to that. When I had to take the keys from my Dad , it
was very hard on him but he later understood. My Mom was the
same way and after her last wreck which should've killed them both,
she was convinced of that. It's about that Independance that we all
have to drive.......it's hard to let go of it.
From what I've seen down here; the people between the ages of 17
to 27 are just as bad if not worse...
It's a difficult issue but I am all for re-testing after a certain age.

I dont think there should be a re-test once you reach a certain age. I think there should be testing every 5 years or so. I think it would rid us of the stupidity of alot of the drivers on the road. At the same time, I think you should actually have to have a basic understanding of how your vehicle functions before you can get behind the wheel.

yea, last summer there was an elderly gent who backed into a light pole one morning, the cops just gave him a slap in the wrist, and he was off..

Later that day he was going down the 4 lane highway and crossed both directions.

He ended up pulling infront of a bus full of seniors coming from the casino.. he was actually going to go to the casino.

Long story short, the bus swerved to miss him head on, rolled down a big ol hill, I dont think anyone on the bus died.. LOTS of broken bones... But the old driver died.

mann i'm sorry for what happened =[

i totally agree with testing everyone for their license stuff whenever they past a certain age. I mean my grandpa drives fine for being 66 or something but then my other grandma drives like a maniac and shes over 65 as well. It's like a toss up but I say retest them all!
