How true you are!! One place that is a small local place in Downtown Wiloughby is called Burgers and Beer. Anyone in/near Lake County Ohio should try that place out (yum yum)

I have not done it on a 5th gen Monte, but I had to change my condenser on my 6th gen Monte, but I can't see the job being much different. If you can pull a radiator, you can do the condenser yourself (sits in front of the radiator). Then have a shop recharge the A/C and your done.
