For me they were never a practical car to own. GM F-bodies are usually not cheap and always having kids in the house it didn't make sense to own one. I probably never will.

For me, my 73 is slowly turning into a Father-Son type project, except usually it's the father that owns the car LOL. My dad's very first car was a 1970 Camaro, so mine has really brought back some memories for him. If he lived closer, I'm sure he'd at least be watching when I worked on it (he doesn't have near the mechanical aptitude that I have). I can't wait to see the look on his face when I finally get it painted.

I hope when I have a son I can find a car that can bring us together like this Camaro has my Dad and I. Dad is also planning to get a Chevelle when he retires in a little over 5 years, so I will likely be doing a good amount of work on it as well. I'm really looking forward to that and I'd love to get my hands on a similar era Nova myself. Whoever I end up marrying is just gonna have to accept the fact that I need a project to work on and will always have cars around to work on haha.

Drew come on over to my house. I've got project cars up the, well you know. My father and I don't talk so we will never have that bond. He never had any car loyalty. He drove anything that had four wheels and started when he turned the key. He had some really cool cars I wish I could have had. The ones I wish I could have gotten my hands on are as follows: 57 Chevy Bel Air 2 door, 61 Dodge Phoenix, 63 Plymouth Fury wagon, 65 Plymouth Fury III 2 door , 66 Chevy Nova wagon, 66 Pontiac Catalina wagon, 69 Olds 98 four door hardtop, 72 Ford LTD, 72 Ford Maverick, 76 Datsun B-210. He totaled the Datsun, the 66 Pontiac, and the 65 Fury. The others he dumped rather than fix when something went wrong.

Haha maybe you'd finally have them on the road! That's what I needed when I was off work for a week at Christmas LOL. It was driving me insane not having anything to work on (until I pull the motor to rebuild it there's really not much else to do with the Camaro).

Dad's not my biological father but as far as I'm concerned he's the only dad I have. He adopted me when he married my mom.

I need to get a garage up so I can start on them. Hard to do a restoration in the back yard with no roof over your head. The sun is way to hot. It is really cool that you have a good relationship with your dad. Mine is biologically mine. He is a selfish self centered bastard. I can't trust him around my kids. I can't say much good about him. I am envious.

When I enlisted, my dad was initially opposed and we drifted apart for a while after arguing about it. That was something that I nearly came to regret for the rest of my life when he had to have emergency open heart surgery. Had he not made it, it probably would have devastated me and at that point I made sure to take full advantage of that second chance.

That is all cool Drew. I am glad you got a second chance. I gave my old man multiple second chances and he pisses all over them. I've written about how much of a dirtbag he is so I won't bore you with it here. I feel guilty about it at times but the safety of my kids and preserving my mental health are more important.

I got up early so I'm running out of steam. Time for a recharge. Hope everyone has a good night and a good morning. Good night Drew and Space. I'll check back in later.

I understand Gregg.

Btw sleep well. I may be going to bed a little early myself. Depends on how talkative my night shift friend from HS is when she gets off work in an hour and a half.
