RUN FOR YOUR LIVES
Cause I'm back.
No electricity since sunday afternoon. Finally got it restored last night.
You just never know how much you take things for granted till you suddenly don't have them. Like running water.
No electricity = no well pump =no water.

Hi R.J.,
We were concerned about you when we heard the news that
the storms hit Ohio, and many were out of power in
the MidWest: (
It happens where I live all the time, & we are used to it.
Many have generations, and supplies stored forthe hurricane/tropical storm season (June 2 the end of November),
candles/batteries/MRI`s/portable stoves/etc.
Our power is constantly going
out during thunderstorms, and Florida is the lightening capital
of the World : (
I think Mother nature does these things to remind us how
spoiled we are to have cold food/air conditioning, running water
when you turn the **** : )
Isnt it great when the power returns : )

Here, we do the Happy Dance : )
Hope things are back to normal. EnJoy of the conveniences of
modern day life. Glad you did not get hurt.

Welcome back to the world of electricity. That's very true. You don't know what you got until it's gone.
During the great black out of 2003, I was without electricity for over 14 hours. Which wasn't bad compared to some other areas. But I still had to throw out everything in my fridge. Really p***ed me off because I had just bought a freezer full of meat the day before. Every bit of it in the garbage. The rats at theregional landfill must have eaten well that week. LOL.
Not to take away from RJ, but on a related note...
Has anyone heard anything from former moderator Montejass (Todd)? He also goes under his new name IAHKAT. He lives in Houston. Anyone heard if he's okay?

Space, we do own a generator. Two infact. The U.S. made generator is large and noisy and difficult to start. Where the Japanese made one is small, quite, and easier to start versus the U.S. made one.
Our well runs off 220 electricity and both generators only put out 110. So running the well pump off either generator isn't possible.
We were able to run the frig and freezer out in the garage for times to keep stuff inside cool. Lucky my g/f Debbie never lost power so I transported the more expensive food to her place so as not to risk loosing it.
She did tell me today she heard on the noon news they are offering food stamps to anyone who lost food. Which is good.
I just wonder why the county I live in has no water relief program for times like these?

MAN!
I haven't been on MCF since last wednesday? What was I thinking?
Well to be honest I was kind of busy getting ready for this past weekend's Rebel Run in Lima, Ohio. Thursday was real busy for me. Trying to clean the underside of the Wagon, check tire air pressure, pack the back with nessessary items, get cloths ready to pack, make sure g/f is getting ready (Ha! now that's funny). Mow grass.Move '03 Pace car soI can get pink/white '57 Hardtop out and drive it to Dairy Queen cruise-in that evening. Get home from DQ, pull Pace car out so I can get '57 back in, pull Pace car back in garage. Go inside and finish as much packing as I can.
Oh. Thanks Mickey.

Hey Mickey... I cut the red wire and your sig disappeared. [sm=oopssign.gif][sm=redxX.gif][sm=redx.gif]
RJ... Hope you had fun. That reminds me. A local Home Depot and A&W (they share the same parking lot) play host to a weekly gathering of classic hot rods and muscle cars. Today (tuesday) is the day. Lots of nice cars.

The Country does have a Water Relief Program. Water is delivered to communities without running water by the National Guard.
But, the National Guard, which is supposed to render assistance to domestic areas in distress ... is otherwise engaged!
Frightful.
Well it's nice the country has a program like this to help in need. But our county needs one for the times like last week. I hear close to 38,000 people in the Dayton area STILL do not have power.
Most are probably on city water but for those who are not. There's no relief for them other then to hit Wally World every couple days and buy something that is free.
Well not F-R-E-E. You still pay a city bill which includes water service.
