Default Reving

Hey everyone i just got an 06 ltz when i rev the engine it only goes up to 4000 rpm. i was wondering if this is normal with the new montes. or the computer is preventing me from reving the engine to high. any input would help thanks

First off... that is the rev limiter kicking in.
Second...
Why would you intentionally rev the car to that rpm in park? The limiter is in place to prevent engine damage caused by that sort of thing.

ok. i wasnt sure what exactly was happening. the only reason i reved it to that many rpm is because i wanted to see if i could hear the intake. i also have another question, since you guys know a lot, what is the best way to go with a new intake is it better to cut out the box and put a better filter in? if so how. or should i just go with a new box set up. it would be easier for me to just cut out the stock box. i know there are explanations on other forums about this but they are for older montes. thanks for the help
